Wedding Planning Advice: Stag and Hen Nights

It is normally the responsibility of the Best Man and Chief Bridesmaid to organise the Stag and Hen celebrations. Although it is only fair to take into account the views of the Bride and Groom to a certain extent, this doesn’t always happen!

Stag and Hen night celebrations can range from the sedate to the sublime and it’s not uncommon nowadays for the ‘night’ to last a full weekend or even a week! There are many companies who will organise all aspects of the event from accommodation to entertainment taking away a lot of the hassle. Discuss with your chief bridesmaid (or best man) the role you would like them to play, especially if you would like them to organise the whole thing. Ensure you provide them with an idea of things you would like to do (and things you definitely wouldn’t!) and all the contact details of those you would like to be invited. Most Stag and Hen celebrations take place several weeks before the big day, ensuring that you can enjoy your carefully planned wedding hangover free. If you are trying to organise a trip for a large number of people you may want to start the preparations as much as 3 months in advance to ensure people are available.
