It takes two to tango and two to make a marriage, but it seems to take hundreds of people to organise a wedding….. and this is where Girls in White Dresses can help.

Girls in White Dresses contains a list of companies and individuals supplying goods and services to people like you who are organising a wedding.

There are in excess of forty thousand people & firms in the wedding business in the UK, about half have websites – and they are listed on Girls in White Dresses. We would like to say they are all listed on Girls in White Dresses, inevitably some of them are a bit elusive but we’ve got most of them. If you find someone that has slipped through the net, let us know here so that we can add them.

The Girls in White Dresses site has been designed so that you can chose suppliers in your own locality (or where you are getting married) by entering the postcode (just the first part will do) or the town or the county. You will then see a list of all the suppliers, or you can narrow it down by the type of supplier that you are looking for.

If you have entered the postcode you can increase the size of your search area in two steps. For instance if you entered MK40 (Bedford) you will get suppliers in the MK40 postcode area, click the second button and you will get the whole of the MK area (the whole of Bedford and Milton Keynes), click the third button and you get all surrounding areas such as Oxfordshire, Northampton, Peterborough etc.

The search results are listed with advertisers first, then those suppliers with websites, and finally those without websites. If there are suppliers who operate anywhere in the country then you can click on the “National” button to see these as well.

At any time you can access a supplier’s website by clicking on the “web” icon and you can e-mail them using the e-mail icon. A shopping trolley means that the supplier has an on-line store. If you see a supplier with the word “more” you will be taken to another page with more information, or an advertisement.

You can then create your own list of potential suppliers. Go to the top right of any screen, and register your details, then make your search and add the ones that you want to your personal list. If you are a wedding planner (rather than planning your own wedding) you can register as many times as you like, for each wedding you are working on.

You can add as many suppliers as you like, make notes about them, and then remove them from your list as you narrow down your choice. You can return as often as you like to update your chosen suppliers. This service is free and we will not divulge any of your information to anyone.
